The Merlin-42 thermal imaging camera is very flexible thanks to the handheld option and the installation as an attachment for daylight optics. The VOx sensor has a resolution of 384 x 288 pixels. The focus can be adjusted manually. The objective lens is 42mm. The maximum range is 1482 meters. The optical zoom is 3, this can be expanded by a factor of 2x or 4x with the digital zoom. Power is supplied by 2 CR123A lithium batteries.
The device works with a high voltage, so rechargeable batteries are the better choice for operation. Because rechargeable batteries have a total voltage of 7,2 V, batteries, on the other hand, only 6 V. The voltage drop means that the rechargeable batteries last longer, even though the capacity of the batteries is higher. Our recommendation: battery pack.

The device concept has been completely revised, the software is now easier to use, the exchanged collimator lens is now permanently installed and more reliable. A separate screw-on eyepiece is no longer required.
