Through the microbolometer used, the without active cooling, the thermal imaging devices of the Helion series are particularly energy-saving. As a display comes a higher resolution AMOLED chip is used, which can display very detailed and sharp images with a resolution of 640 x 480 px. The optical 1,4x zoom range can be increased up to eightfold in double jumps thanks to digital technology.

The Pulsar Helion thermal camera is equipped with a real measurement method, which a person measuring 1,8 meters x 0,5 meters in natural surroundings would say and write 1 km can recognize. The 50 Hearts frame rate can capture fast-moving creatures without the image display faltering or even flickering.

An interesting feature is the automatic OFF function. If this is switched on, the display is switched off as soon as the user wants to take a short break, all the default settings are retained. After the pause, only the display has to be switched on again with the push of a button.

Through the IPX7 moisture protection class According to the IEC 60529 standard, the handset is protected against the ingress of water in rain, snow and even if it should fall into water. In addition, all observations can be stored as an image or video on the internal memory. For further processing, the data can be transferred to a PC or laptop via Wi-Fi or a USB cable.

The integrated B-Pack battery has a capacity of 5,2 Ah, which is enough for a maximum Runtime from eight hours. If the device is used for a longer period of time without being able to recharge the battery on the way, the battery compartment can be expanded with CR123A lithium cells, AA Mignon batteries and an IPS10 battery. For battery operation, a container required, this is available separately.

A built-in range finder makes it possible to use the scale to determine the estimated size of known game such as deer, sow and hare. The thermal imaging handheld camera is also well prepared for use in the cold season, because the AMOLED display does not tarnish down to a temperature of – 25 °C.

The bonus consists of a remote control, which makes the thermal device even more versatile. The user interface was designed in such a way that you can intuitively make the right settings depending on the situation. Symbols that appear on the display help with this. These do not interfere with ongoing operations, the field of view is excellently adapted to them.
