Because it combines the two techniques residual light amplification and the Thermal detection in one device. This has never been done before from Pulsar. The combination of night vision binoculars and thermal imaging camera is the best solution for any type of observation at night as well as during the day for heat source detection. The advantages of the binocular design are primarily evident when observing for hours. Compared to a monocular, your hands don't get tired as quickly when you hold it for long periods of time. Not to mention the eyes, which are not put under as much strain when used on both sides.
