The entry-level handheld thermal imaging observation device has a solid thermal imaging detection performance and extensive equipment, which is typical for ThermTec. What is special about the new Cyclops-D generation of devices is that dual lens, which allows the device to be used for close range as well as for the wider environment. If, for example, an object is observed in the distance and you want to switch quickly to the close-up range, you only have to operate a rotary switch, and the image is immediately sharp without having to focus. Of course, also in the reverse process from near to far.

The lens has a 2x lens system with a 25 and 50 millimeter (in diameter) lens. This means that there are two field of view widths to choose from over a 2 meter long distance of almost 100 and over 19 meters.

For thermal imaging is a VOx sensor responsible, who with 384 x 288 pixels with a matrix of 12 microns (pitch) photos and videos on the HD capable AMOLED display can reproduce. With a sensitivity of less than 25 microkelvins, even heat sources with only the slightest temperature difference, such as the bones of a game animal or a blade of grass, can be distinguished. Thanks to the modern AMOLED technology, the display is sharp, high-contrast and particularly colourfast.

The proven noise reduction has been further refined with the latest V4 chip, so that the image reproduction is even clearer and sharper. And that especially in difficult conditions such as rain or snow, where experience has shown that image noise increases massively.

The Deep Learning Algorithm can capture and constantly track up to 6 creatures at the same time. In addition, a movement can be automatically reported to the user visually, acoustically or by a vibration. This is of course particularly interesting for wildlife observers, hunters and surveillance services, because then you don't have to be constantly observed.

Besides like the 6 different farmodis, the backlight can also be changed from 3 colors. Hot spot tracking and Picture-in-Picture (PiP) are also available.

The internal recorder can take up to 32 gigabytes of photos and videos. The Wi-Fi in both directions means that not only the live image can be transmitted to smartphones. It is also possible to broadcast live to the Internet via the data connection of a paired mobile phone.

The Power Supply is done by the permanently installed battery, which allows a running time of up to 12 hours. It can then be recharged directly in the device using the supplied USB cable. Logically, a power bank can also be operated on the USB port.
