Can APEX riflescopes be used with third-party RCR123A batteries?

Caution is advised here. The battery compartment of the APEX riflescopes was specially designed so that batteries can be inserted upright. Therefore, in addition to the right voltage, it is essential to pay attention to the right size. Since the device only correctly displays the battery discharge status of non-rechargeable 3 V batteries, battery packs can be "misinterpreted". In this case, the Li-ion batteries can be discharged to such an extent that they reach a critical point and may then become unusable. We therefore advise only using batteries that have been explicitly approved by Pulsar.

Can the scope also be attached to a rail with clamping screws?

In principle, this is possible. A prerequisite is expert attachment with thread adhesive approved for this purpose.

What can I do if the battery compartment opens when I shoot?

A spontaneous opening of the battery compartment usually only happens if the battery compartment was closed incorrectly or not completely. Under certain circumstances, however, it can also be due to "too large" battery packs from third-party suppliers, which fundamentally prevent reliable closing.

Can I use the external power supply with charged batteries installed?

Yes, because the APEX devices are designed to always use the external power source first. To switch to battery power, restart the scope and manually select the power source. There is no automatic switching.
