Like its predecessor FN455, the FN455S night vision attachment of the Pulsar Forward series has a Infrared Heaters. The model is new, this time the new one is used Pulsar Ultra X940S, who now has a performance of 700 mW compared to the previous 250 mW. The position of the infrared beam can be adjusted, as can the power (175, 350, 700 mW). Otherwise, both devices have the same Hardware.

The components used enable a particularly high residual light yield, which also leads to better infrared sensitivity. Thus, the stem can also be used in the twilight or depending on the night-time light conditions without activated brightener can be used. Using the IR brightener in the spectral range from 900 – 950 Nanometer range works, observation can be totally invisible take place because the radiation is not visible to humans and animals.
